Overview

The Role: Senior Manager, MGA Portfolio

·       Work with other members of the MGA portfolio team, and other product teams, to develop the parameters, guidelines, resourcing and authorities for new and developing relationships.

·       Act as the technical expert and referral point to support the MGA Portfolio team to execute the new business strategy and avoid conflicts with key partners.

·       Oversee the design and implementation of a portfolio management rhythm of activity that ensures underwriting teams have the insights they need to deliver the right outcomes to partners and manage the risk for the organization.

·       Work with the Performance and Portfolio Analytics team to prepare new or adjust existing reporting and dashboards to ensure a comprehensive understanding of portfolio performance, underwriting trends, issues, etc.

·       Inspiring, motivating and leading the team to define and execute strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing leadership talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, diverse, and agile culture.

·       Establish and monitor performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.

How you will succeed:

·       You have a strong understanding of commercial and specialty insurance marketplace; products, distribution channels, practices and processes required.

·       You are a subject matter expert in at least one of the following coverages: Commercial Property, EB, Professional Liability.

·       You thrive on leading and motivating others to embrace accountability to deliver our exceptional client experience and achieve results.

Experience:

·       10 + years of experience in Mid – Market commercial lines or speciality lines underwriting

·       5+ years of portfolio underwriting experience

·       Proven experience leading a team with the ability to develop, coach and empower

·       Experience in interpreting data, including profit/loss & claims performance to guide pricing and coverage decisions

·       Bilingual capabilities in French will be advantageous

·       CIP designation or FCIP courses/designation preferrable but not required.
