National Underwriting Specialist - Cyber and Professional Lines

Our client is looking for a Senior Underwriting Specialist to join their National Underwriting team to support our Specialty Lines distribution teams across the country, with a focus on Cyber and Professional Lines. Expectations:

• Handling referrals and providing clear technical underwriting guidance to support performance.
• Developing, updating and implementing underwriting guidelines, resources and tools.
• Using data and analytics to perform portfolio analysis in order to drive and maintain profitability.
• Contributing to the product development process, including drafting and/or reviewing policy wordings and manuscripts.
• Driving underwriting governance best practices, including leading or participating in underwriting audits and developing and maintaining underwriting authorities.
• Training, coaching, and mentoring underwriters and colleagues.

Qualifications:

‍

• Minimum 7 years of underwriting experience with technical expertise in Technology and Cyber.
• Experience with Professional Liability (E&O), Management Liability (D&O, Employment Practices, Fiduciary, Crime) is an asset.
• Post-Secondary education is preferred; FCIP or CIP designation is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills and an understanding of portfolio analysis metrics required.
• You take initiative to deliver exceptional client experiences and effective results.
• You have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Proven project and change management skills with the ability to deliver on deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
