BROKER - Commercial Insurance Underwriter

Underwriter – Commercial Lines (Lloyd's Cover holder), assists the organization to ensure insurance coverage for the clients comprehensive. A key technical resource and subject matter expert for both employees and managers. This role will be responsible for Lloyd's book of business.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lloyd's Cover holder
• Strategic Initiatives, including technological advancements.
• Rate and Product Development.
• Regulatory Changes and Reporting.
• Lloyd's Benchmarks.
• Ability to research and analyze industry and company data
• Technical assistance and trainer to staff to ensure everyone is aware of changes
• Mentor and develop team members and facilitate sessions for the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
• Perform risk analysis using technology as well as external data sources for the purposes of quoting, negotiating and authorizing the acceptance of risk.
• Foster positive working relationships with internal and external parties, including other regional offices and networking at industry events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

‍

• Previous Lloyd's experience or Underwriting experience
• 5+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty mid-market industry experience.
• Post-secondary education
• Completed or in progress – CAIB or CIP
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to review the information carefully and comprehensively.
• Analytical, and problem solving with the ability to select and implement best solutions.
• Decision-making skills with the ability to provide justification.
• Customer service skills.
• Clear communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills to positively influence team members and provide direction.
• Strong ability to multi-task and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
